The Rotary Centennial Vocational Collection

Rotarians have a long tradition of vocational service, and the practice continues today. The Rotary Club of Orange is helping the library develop a strong vocational collection to offer guidance for individuals at any stage of their careers. Whether you are choosing a career, joining the workforce, or changing career paths, the career collection offers numerous resources to help you reach your career goals. Materials are available to help you:  

Research occupations
Books describing occupations in various fields, with information about educational requirements, salaries, working conditions, and future outlook. 

Select a college or training program
Directories of two and four year colleges, as well as vocational and trade schools, to help you choose a school that meets the educational requirements of your chosen career. 

Prepare for standardized tests
Test prep materials are available for both academic and professional tests, such as the SAT, GED, or Civil Service Exams.

Learn about financial aid
 
Information about obtaining financial aid for educational needs is provided in sources that list scholarships, grants, and loans, as well as tips on application procedures.

Search for a job

Find guidelines and suggestions for preparing a resume, writing a cover letter, and practicing for the job interview.
